Is Albendazole 400mg Safe for my 4 year old?

Albendazole is a broad spectrum, anthelmintic drug. It is usually indicated for various parasitic worms such as whipworm, hookworm, roundworm and others. In treating filariasis or lymphatic filariasis infection, albendazole is generally used in combination with Stromectol or diethyl carbamazine citrate (DEC). Although, albendazole can be available in a liquid form like Tilminth (Tablets India) 200mg in 10 ml suspension, it is generally supplied by the Filipino government in 400mg chewable tablets. While the strength may be reasonable for older people, some parents are asking if it is safe for smaller children.
